Personal Pay, Cash Awards & Incentives for Central Government Employees on Passing the Examinations of Central Hindi Training Institute / Hindi Teaching Scheme

1. Personal Pay

Personal pay equal to one increment for a period of twelve months is granted to eligible Central Government officers/employees on passing Hindi language, Hindi typewriting and Hindi stenography examinations.

(a) Prabodh Examination

The Personal Pay shall be granted only to those Non-Gazetted Government employees for whom the Prabodh course has been prescribed as the final course of study.

  • Minimum qualifying marks: 55%
  • Applicable only to eligible Non-Gazetted employees.
  • Granted for twelve months.

(b) Praveen Examination

Personal Pay shall be granted only to officers/employees for whom the Praveen course has been prescribed as the final course of study.

Gazetted Officers 60%

(c) Pragya Examination

Personal Pay shall be granted only to officers/employees prescribed for Pragya course.

  • Non-Gazetted Employees : Passing Marks
  • Gazetted Officers : 60% Marks

(d) Hindi Word Processing / Hindi Typing

Personal Pay equal to one increment for a period of twelve months shall be granted to Non-Gazetted employees on successfully passing Hindi Word Processing / Hindi Typing examination.

  • Applicable to eligible employees.
  • Granted under prescribed Government rules.

(e) Hindi Stenography

Gazetted and Non-Gazetted employees whose mother tongue is not Hindi shall be granted Personal Pay equal to two increments on passing Hindi Stenography examination.

  • Two increments are admissible.
  • Absorbed in future increments.
  • Subject to Government Orders.

Important Note

An employee who has been exempted from in-service Hindi Training shall not be entitled to Personal Pay on passing the concerned examination.

2. Cash Awards

Employees securing high marks in Hindi examinations are eligible for Cash Awards.

Conditions

  • Cash Awards are granted only after successful completion of the prescribed examination.
  • Employees appearing through self-study are also eligible under prescribed Government Rules.
  • Only one award is admissible for each examination.
  • Awards are subject to Official Language Department guidelines.
  • The competent authority reserves the right to verify eligibility before sanction.

Special Note

Where no Hindi Training Centre exists, eligible employees may appear privately in the examination and claim Lump Sum Award as per Government Rules.
